Azam Tafaj is declared new President of Albania after close election

After a close election between Azam Tafaj and Lajmora Siliqi, Tafaj has been declared the new President of Albania after winning 51.6% of the popular vote compared to Siliqi's 48.4%. The only question now is how will Tafaj adjust to his new role and what exactly can we expect from him in the long run?

For starters, it must be known that Tafaj has never been considered a loyalist or supporter of former President Kolcei's politics such as the dogmatic line of "remaining pure" to the doctrines of Engels, Amundsven, and Laxim. So it is likely that we will experience a new, and more pragmatic Albania that won't focus so much on political purity but rather fostering better relations with neighboring countries, which was a weak point for Kolcei and his administration which preferred to remain isolationist causing the country to suffer both economically and diplomatically.

Secondly, Tafaj has expressed ending the "Kolcei Bunker Construction Initiative" and diversifying the economy. Sadly, this change will leave thousands of Albanians jobless and the Tafaj administration will need to focus all of its efforts on providing the people jobs in order to contribute to the functioning of day to day market flow.

Lastly, Tafaj will be officially inaugurated to his position on September 5th, where Kolcei will pass on the "keys of the state" over in a symbolic gesture of unity and progress.
